Life sure has been CRAZY this month!
I feel like I’ve been slacking here and I’m so sorry! As I write this Ada is bullying Grey, there is squealing, screaming, laughing then crying. I hear jumping on the bed and stomping. I am choosing to sit here and get into my happy place with my cup of coffee and you fine people!
Reading– Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick . I’m not too far into the book (hello to life as a mom of three under five, one being a newborn), but this book is FUNNY. I’ve always felt like she is someone I can relate to! Her upbeat personality, her sarcastic sense of humor and need to be the person leading a conversation are qualities I’ve been able to identify with and I think we would be total besties.
Watching– Z: The Beginning of Everything on Amazon Video. If you didn’t know already, I love great storylines that somehow relate to history. I was looking for Season 3 of Man in the High Tower (not out yet) and stumbled across this gem! A story about the life of Zelda Fitzgerald, the role being played by Christina Ricci who was perfect in this role! As I watch every episode I can’t help but think how much I would love to have lived in that time period…and what a loser Scott Fitzgerald was!
Listening– All on Me by Devin Dawson. His voice and those lyrics? Swoon! Its my first song on my playlist when Jay has the kids and I’m cruising solo, windows down to Kroger on a sunny day! All the happy vibes.
Eating– Anything and everything with Tessemaes all natural dressing. Caprese sandwich, baby spinach and tomato salad, charcoal grilled bone in chops, chicken breasts. I put it on EVERTHING. My favorites are the Lemon Garlic and the Green Goddess. No sugars added and HOLY YUM!
Drinking– Rose. Is that bad that my mind automatically went to the delicious French pink wine at 10:30am on a Sunday where in TN I can’t even buy it? No biggie, I bought some yesterday-lol! I kept seeing #roseallday on social media and had to see what all the hype was about. Y’all, I get it now! I’m a fan of dry wines and thought it would be sweet like a Zinfandel or a Riesling but no, it’s not and yes, I’m quite obsessed.
Loving– My Joovy ScooterX2 double stroller! We have used this stroller EVERYWHERE! On the local trails, to the park, our perfect picnic yesterday at the vineyard with my Dad. Its amazing, reclines so far and folds with one hand. Check it out for sure!
Using– Still exclusively using New Wash from Hairstory Studio! By far my favorite product ever. I have yet to use anything else in my hair and only need to wash it once every week or so and my hair has never been more silky. I’m still constantly getting compliments on my hair. I’m like “Girl, I was it once a week” the #momlife dream product! Read more about it in my previous blog post!
Wishing– Florida wasn’t so far. Jay wants to go for Labor Day weekend. Sure we have a full 3 row vehicle but 9 hours in the car with Ada, Grey, Wes and the dog is a LOT for a long weekend. Pray for me, y’all. Momma’s going to need some SANITY. Not to mention, I’ll have to pump which is not my thing. HOWEVER, a weekend at the beach with some of my favorite family members is sure to be worth the drive!
Ada– Has been all kinds of sassy lately. Lately, meaning the last 3 years of her life. My mom came this month and after lunch one day she asked Ada if she was done eating. Ada’s response? “Well, I’m up from the table, what do you think?” You guys she is FIVE! Where in the world does she get this from?! Her imagination is quite impressive, her desire to learn more in our homeschool lessons makes me so proud, and she is an AWESOME big sister so once we get this sass under control we will be golden. I’m pretty sure she’s going to be a CEO of a big company some day.
Grey– The first week we had the baby home, Grey wanted nothing to do with Wes or me, he only wanted Jay. Now he is adjusted, if he hears Wes crying he runs to find a pacifier to give him, or runs to me yelling “Beebee! Beebee!” His vocabulary is expanding, he still needs to work on nailing down proper pronunciation, but we can all understand what he’s saying and asking for. He now says please and thank you almost every time he wants something. His new word that I find hilarious is “Dirty”. Grey is my clean freak, he says that work about 20 times per day, his hands are dirty, his clothes are dirty, the table is dirty and he needs to clean it all! He goes to grab a rag and our (all natural) cleaning supplies and goes to town scrubbing. I won’t complain!
Westley– Four weeks old- TODAY! He is awake for about 2 hour stretches during the day now and wakes twice at night to nurse. His big blue eyes make me melt! He is a super laid back baby, rarely cries. He had his first bath yesterday and boy does he smell good! He loved it for the most part. We went with the good ole sink bath. His hair is even softer now, which I didn’t think was possible! He loves to snuggle. He lets the kids hold him no problem, just looks up at them with those gorgeous eyes and studies his sibling’s faces.
