Last night was rough. It was one of those nights when I absolutely couldn’t sleep, and of course the kids woke up early! I woke up feeling the ball of anxiety in my chest from lack of sleep. Yesterday, we were given warning of some severe weather heading our way this evening. The most severe weather our area has seen in 5 years is expected. I can not stand tornadoes. I would fall asleep for an hour and be woken up by my anxiety, I would pray and fall back asleep. Then would wake up and do it all over again. It’s windy and cloudy- but warm and quiet. Normally, I would thoroughly enjoy this type of day, but knowing what lies ahead has me scared and just waiting for something that lies ahead.
What do I do?
I get Grey out of his crib and make the kids breakfast.
I put on some music.
I make a to do list for the day which consists of an order for my sewing, my photo editing, cleaning for company arriving tomorrow, homeschool lessons and storm prep.
Looking at the list is overwhelming.
I take a big inhale from my organic herbs in the kitchen in clay pots painted by tiny hands and decide today will need to be mind over matter if I want to keep my cool. If I want to keep with my schedule.
Last thing, I light my favorite candle.
Organic beeswax, Lavender and peppermint essential oils with fresh pieces of lavender and mint. I absolutely love lighting my clean candle from Bee All Natural Candles. You know how when you light your candles from yankee candle, target, home goods etc, how there is always that cloud of black smoke as soon as the wick is lit? Well, you don’t see that with these candles and it makes me feel so much better about what I am putting in the air in my home. The fragrance isn’t overwhelming and is very gradual and it has such a slow and clean burn. I have had this candle for a few months now and here she is- still going. Still offering a beautiful fragrance for me to enjoy. I purchased this candle as a custom order- lavender to help with my prenatal anxiety, and peppermint to help with that awful first trimester morning sickness. When it first came I remember just standing in my kitchen with my face over the candle just breathing in all of the subtle fragrance. I am so glad to have found such a wonderful company that uses natural and locally sourced ingredients.
You NEED to go to this shop’s Etsy and send this sweet shop owner and fellow momma a message and set up an order. So many families now are turning to a chemical free lifestyle and now you can still have the luxury of a beautiful candle, without all of the harsh chemicals and additives. And did I mention that she recycles the jars? I honestly can’t say enough about this fantastic momma owned shop. And what is better than supporting a mother who is doing what she loves as a way to contribute to her family?
